This is a model of the famous Tiger 1 which was produced from 1942 to 1944.
The Tiger in Z scale is 38.2mm (1.50") long (including the gun), 14.1mm
(0.56") wide and 13.4mm (0.53") high.
My model is of an early version in transport configuration with the outer
roadwheels removed and narrow transport tracks fitted. This enabled the tank
to comply with the European loading gauge. Marklins 6-axle Ssym46 flatcar
(ref.82351) is the correct wagon to transport the Tiger 1 on your layout.
This 6-axle flatcar was produced from 1942 specifically for the Tiger
1.
The tanks are cast in a grey plastic which has ideal properties; it is light
yet strong and accurately reproduces the full detail of the master
prototype. Being light (each tank weighs about 5 grammes) allows the tanks
to be put on Z scale wagons and pulled by locomotives.
